Spelling mistake in a book

36894 I found a spelling mistake in a book last night.  Who do I complain to?  I don’t really want to complain though, I just want to feel a bit smug for a few minutes!

The book is A Quiet Belief In Angels by R.J. Ellroy.  It’s quite a good book  actually, even though it has taken me about 3 months to read just under 400 pages.  I’m the worlds worst when it comes to reading, I have the attention span of a gnat.  I’m not even sure how long the attention span of a gnat is – but I bet it’s about as long as mine.

Anywho, the silly typist spelt the word mention wrong.  They spelt it as ‘metnion’.  Even a gnat wouldn’t make that mistake.

*goes off to dictionary.com to make sure it’s not a word*

Yep, it’s wrong.  Someone should be sent to the gallows for this.

Yours faithfully

Mr Smug

PS. Page 368 just below half way down.

  1. You and me both, I love proofing books I’m reading (does this make me the saddest person on earth?) and then quietly feeling smug when I find something.
