When did those animal hats creep into everyday society?
You know the animal character on the top of the hat and tassels (sometimes morphed into gloves) hanging down. Where did they come from? Who is responsible?
They’ve just popped up out of nowhere and all of a sudden I see a grown man walking around in 25 degree heat with one on in Sydney this morning. As if it’s normal.
Is it a thing now? I’ve no idea what the kool kidz are doing these days. Are people wearing them to show how wacky they are?
‘Look at me, I’m dead mad, I’ve got a tiger hat on’.
If you’re past puberty, stop it. It makes you look like a massive knobhead.
I don’t know, but they’ve become quite big in London too, particularly with twenty- / thirty-somethings who should know better. Do Not Like.
Big in Denver as well.
I had Mickey Mouse ears as a child, but not the full head. I guess I was just a souvenir hunter … and not a wild game hunter: “just the ears … they’ll know.”
Mickey Mouse is a bit more acceptable than being mid-thirties and walking around with a giraffe hat on.
I half blame the parents, who popped an animal head on infant johnny, who got used to it and then just forgot to stop wearing it when he reached adulthood. The other half of the blame is with the lack of quality bullies these days. In the good old days they would have kicked the animal hat wearing out of Johnny long before he limped out of school….
You’re totally correct. Where are the bullies, proper ones, like in the good ol’days. Kids are too protected these days.
